Duo Minerva is a classical, innovative ensemble that transcends boundaries and operates at the cutting edge of contemporary music. Since its founding in 2016, the duo has dedicated itself to the musical possibilities of both instruments with elegance and refinement. Their attention to detail and unbridled joy in previously untapped chamber music possibilities are the driving forces behind their success. In 2017, the young ensemble won the 16th Fidelio Chamber Music Competition of the City of Vienna and the scholarship for the promotion of young artists. This was followed by international competition successes in Europe and Asia, as well as concerts at international festivals such as the Allegro Vivo Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
With their new program, “Hymne à l’amour,” the duo fits perfectly into the concept of the “Clara’s Flower Album” festival. The title refers to Edith Piaf’s hit “Hymne à l’amour,” just one of many chansons with which the “Sparrow of Paris” sang of love. Duo Minerva’s program also revolves around love, combining classical masterpieces with contemporary avant-garde, folk music, and other genres—in true Duo Minerva style. To give a voice to the festival’s namesake, Clara Schumann, the duo has invited the young French-Dutch mezzo-soprano Claire Gascoin, a member of the Hamburg Opera Studio since 2022, to perform three of Clara Schumann’s songs.
