Trio Abstrakt is a love letter to new chamber music. For over 8 years, the ensemble has devoted itself with the utmost precision and dedication to demanding contemporary chamber music from the last three decades. As the creative home of musicians Salim(a) Javaid (saxophone), Marlies Debacker (piano), and Alexandre Ferreira Silva (percussion), the trio combines chamber music tradition with a continuous engagement with the present.

The ensemble aims to bring “music of today” to life, relying on a non-hierarchical collaboration with composers. In this collaborative process, extensive new works emerge that explore the sonic possibilities of modern chamber music performance.
