Vienna-born actor Wolf Bachofner is the ideal choice when it comes to serving up Viennese coffeehouse literature around Karl Kraus or dialect poetry such as “Weana Schbrüch” by Ernst Kein. Bachofner became known to a wider audience in the 1990s alongside Tobias Moretti and Karl Markovics in the TV series “Inspector Rex”. He currently stars in the series “Schnell ermittelt.”
On the stage of the Musikverein, Wolf Bachofner will perform with the VIENNA CLARINET CONNECTION, four “real Viennese” from Tyrol, Burgenland, and Styria. With a seemingly inexhaustible palette of colours, they celebrate a symbiosis of classical and jazz, pop and contemporary music. With respect and attention to detail, the pieces are taken apart and reassembled. It’s not unusual for a melody from Franz Lehár’s “The Merry Widow” to gently glide into “Someday My Prince Will Come” by Dave Brubeck, who, incidentally, loved Vienna. The VIENNA CLARINET CONNECTION serves up a Viennese Melange in swaying three-quarter time and strolls through the city with Wolf Bachofner…
