In conjunction with their technicians, the three experienced members of staff in the oboe department at MMI make sure that each instrument is set up to their high standards to provide you with the highest quality selection of instruments.

Tell us about your music education and/or career!
We are a staff of ten, six sales staff all trained and educated in our respective instruments and four repair techs.
How did the business get started and/or why did you decide to open the shop?
MMI was started by our owner, Michael Aamoth, out of his house in 1983. Over the past 30 years it has grown to a prominent business in the double reed world.
What is your favourite Howarth oboe and why?
The XL would be the favoured professional model and the s40-VT would be the favoured intermediate!
Anything to add?
We’ve had an amazing working relationship with Howarth throughout the years and we’re thrilled to continue the partnership for years to come. The staff are wonderful to work with and the instruments are truly superb. We’re always thrilled to find new homes for every new Howarth oboe that comes through our shop.
