Powerful, freer, more focused straight ahead player with an open sound, extra punch, brights, and sizzle compared to the 10mfan Classic and Robusto mouthpieces. The Showtime is a great all-around player to be used for anything! This mouthpiece offers a perfect blend of warmth and power at the same time. The Showtime features a return to more traditional facing curves, tip rails and side rails (not quite so thin at the tip) than some of 10mfan’s other mouthpieces. This results in less unwanted ‘buzz’ in the sound. The Showtime creates a classic, full-bodied warmth whilst still having plenty of scope to play with volume and power.
This piece has a medium height baffle with straight sidewalls to the end of the baffle. The sidewalls are then scooped out with a bullet shape all the way to the medium-large chamber. It also has a higher floor than both the Robusto and Classic models. All of this helps it to retain a satisfying fatness and breadth of sound even when playing at its brightest throughout the upper octaves, something that is hard to come by in a Tenor mouthpiece.
