Howarth | Cor Anglais Crook – BB 15°

These crooks are our new 2024 design, carefully developed in our manufacturing workshops and field tested by professionals around the world.

They are made with 2 different bore shapes: 'BB' and 'WB'; combined with the two materials the crooks are made from (brass and nickel-silver) our new range provides solutions for most musical requirements.

The BB bore offers a warm and free tone across all octaves including the top register. The brass version is a bit more contained, the nickel-silver version offers more volume and projection while retaining the warmth.

The WB bore is designed to be more powerful and suits large orchestral settings where it is necessary to be able to cut through the texture. The big sound continues into the top register, a real advantage for works like the New World symphony!

They are available in 4 lengths #0, #1, #2, #3. The shortest and longest lengths #0 and #3 are only available to special order.
