Kexun Ge | Gouged Only Oboe Cane (BM) 58-60

The cane used for Ke-Xun Ge's reeds comes from Anhui province in China, which is a famous cane producing region.

They have been supplying cane for Oboe, Bassoon, and Clarinet reeds for local musicians since about 1960. Ke-Xun discovered that the climate of Anhui is very similar to that of the cane-producing Var region in France. Cane from Anhui stands out from other canes in having greater resilience and a much higher fibre density. This cane is of medium to medium hard hardness, its texture is silky, fine, and smooth, and its colour is yellow to golden brown. It is also more consistent in quality than other canes.
