Description
This oboe mute is the result of a two-year collaboration between Gonzalo Mejia and Henrik Rehme.
Unlike the Lorée oboe mute and the famous sock-in-the-bell method, this mute takes a much more innovative approach: like a trumpet mute, the sound is reduced by the foam inside. Since the airflow is not altered, you can still play down the low B without changing the intonation.
The mute is made of PLA (polylactic acid), which is derived from natural raw materials and is biodegradable. Since the material is not very resistant to UV rays, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided.
