Description
The Selmer Paris Privilege Bb Clarinets are exceptionally consistent in tuning, blending in easily with other instruments in all acoustic setting including, symphony, opera, large ensemble, chamber and in the studio.
The perfectly balanced throat tone area (E, F, F#, G) really shines, making the Privilege extremely consistant over the entire range of the instrument. Additionally, most notes do not require corrective fingerings to be tuned, and extra correction keys are not necerssary for the notes in the low register (E and F).
Ergonomically redesigned keywork, including a new key shape and orientation for the right and left little fingers, and an improved mechanical response are among the developments that facilitate the clarinetist's easy switch to the Privilege.
Henri Selmer Paris entrusted this project to, Phillippe Berrod, Principal Clarinet of the Orchestre de Paris, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris and in-house tester. He was supported by a team of seasoned experts and international musicians, including Jerome Verhaeghe, Solo Clarinet of the Orchestra de L'Opera de Pairs and professor at the Conservatoire de ParisXIIIe, who is at the origin of the Privilege Clarinets.
