Description
Selmer’s Latest Addition to their Saxophone Range, The Signature Alto and Tenor!
Selmer have further developed their catalogue of saxophones by presenting the new Signature models for alto and tenor. The Signature draws inspiration predominantly from the Super Action 80 Series II and III instruments, whilst improving upon the standards that these saxophones have set by enhancing the ergonomics and acoustics, as well as benefitting from innovations that have taken place through the creation of the Supreme.
The Signature tenor saxophone represents the renewal of the Series III, rather than its replacement. The Series III has always been a popular choice amongst professional saxophonists, and the Signature draws on this, taking the acoustic qualities of the Series III but adding an increase in the diameter of the neck, in order to offer further precision and an even fuller sound. Ergonomically, the Signature is a beacon of modernity as a result of the innovations on the Supreme. The Signature tenor is acoustically a very traditional saxophone, but mechanically, a beacon of modernity.
Design features of the Supreme are showcased in the new neck receiver with 3-point concentric tightening that facilitates a better seal between the neck and the body. It also utilises a nickel-silver tightening ring to increase the density in this area. This is separate from the receiver, meaning its position can be adjusted. Furthermore, the octave key system features Teflon supports, enabling a lighter action whilst also soaking up any wear-and-tear that accrues through the usage of the instrument, and prevents any unwanted noise.
